Last week I blogged about Exercise and Conditioning Help You Heal…and Rebounding! This week, in addition to exercising, I want to encourage you, if you are recovering from a physical injury, to consider alternative therapies. I realize your doctor may or may not bring up the subject, and he or she may be more prone to prescribing medications alone.
Yes, I’m an Important Pill!
Take time to research therapies that peak your interest. There are numerous therapies, health products and practices that are available. Here’s The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) website to start your research.
Have a discussion with your doctor and, and seek his or her support when choosing what you’d like to do to help your mind, body and soul heal quicker. Healing is different than curing. Healing is a process of moving toward wholeness of body, mind and spirit.
Body, Mind & Spirit = Balance
As I wrote last week, my role as a health educator allows me to help my client track and note progression in their exercise program. I also am available to assist clients with considering alternative therapies. There are various ways to tap into such therapies at a minimal cost.
